Home: Poetry: Ivy McKnight: Soldier's Honor
Desperate shadows,
they drink to what was,
to the heroes they were,
and parades long forgotten.
In musty old rooms,
on cracked leather stools,
they sit in their world,
amongst brothers of blood.
With memories fading,
inside aging minds,
the young blood lives on,
when old stories shall die.
