Home: Poetry: Emily Cox: Carnival

As I step onto a wooden plank
Butterflies in my stomach take flight
Intoxicated with gayness
I sway back and forth as does the foundation on which I stand
But a noisemaker shatters my trance
I wave to no one in particular
And anticipate the coming attractions.
