Home: Poetry: Dave Person: Silent Farewell

The feeling swept my being
Avoice said that it was time
For one who had meant so much
Whispered a farewell on a cold night
Only silence gripped words meant to say
Finding nothing to whisper back
Till night went away, such be God's will
Into the light
Under this old oak finds January wind
Silent tears to thoughts
Of a farewell
In silence
